Invites YOU to help us celebrate Help A Horse Day with a silent auction, activities, food and fun!
Help a Horse Day is a national celebration and contest created by the ASPCA to raise awareness of the plight of horses. Participating organizations will be eligible to compete for grant money from the ASPCA to assist them with helping horses.
Come join The Mustang Project in celebrating Help A Horse Day and find out how you can help horses in our community and help us care for some very special horses.

This photo I call Night Thirst. These two wild horses came down last to drink at the only water source left in the Big Springs area in the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Northern Nevada that had been going through a long drought, and all of Big Springs lake had dried up. Evening was coming on fast as we sat and watched each group come for their turn to drink. These two were the last of the evening's dry and thirsty horses; an older mare, and a young stallion came down together. There was just enough light to capture this shot of them drinking their fill, their Night Thirst cool and peaceful. This photo was taken in 2010.
